The first year I had my house I didn't rake them, because I didn't really realize I was supposed to yet. Leaves in Texas fall differently than they do in Virginia, I learned. I managed to kill off a good amount of my grass that way. I think it'd be more fulfilling if all the leaves fell at once, and after you raked you were done with it. Unfortunately where I live it's more of a 3-month long trickle. Raking leaves definitely seems ridiculous.
